Characteristics and differences between ADSS and ASU optical cables
They can be installed without cutting off the power supply, and have the advantages of large span, good tensile strength, light weight, small diameter, strong structure, flexibility, reliability, fast speed, easy installation and maintenance, low cost, small impact of ice and wind, can withstand its weight and external load, eliminate bonding and grounding, anti-electrical corrosion, suitable for harsh climate, non-metallic structure, good insulation, and lightning protection.
Application scenarios
ADSS & ASU optical cables are used for communication in power companies, telecommunications companies and private network groups, distribution and high-voltage transmission lines, conductors, outdoor aerial self-operated devices, enterprise OSP networks, broadband, FTTX networks, railways, remote communications, CATV, CCTV, computer network systems, Ethernet LAN networks, off-site campus backbone networks, etc.
Advantages of ADSS & ASU optical cables
ADSS & ASU optical cables are very suitable for installation in distribution and transmission environments. It does not require brackets or suspension wires, and one installation is enough, which makes it a cost-effective and simple way to set up a fiber optic network.

The ADSS optical cable structure is mainly composed of a central reinforcement member, a twisted loose tube, a water-blocking material, an aramid yarn and a sheath. The ADSS optical cable structure is divided into two types: single sheath and double sheath. ADSS optical cable is from 4 cores to 144 cores.
The ASU optical cable is covered with a single PE outer sheath. Aerial self-supporting ASU optical cable has loose tube construction and waterproof gel compound to provide vital protection to the optical fiber. On the loose tube, water blocking material is applied to keep the cable waterproof. Two parallel plastic (FRP) strength members are placed on both sides. ASU optical cable is from 2 cores to 24 cores.
